You do not dock there because the port itself is beautiful or because it offers incredible city architecture at the pier. To get there on your own: - Local Bus & Train: You can walk from the cruise terminal to the nearest local bus stop and catch Bus 382 (operated by Connexxion). Take this bus to the Amsterdam Sloterdijk train station. From there, it is a very quick (approx. 5-minute) train ride directly into Amsterdam Centraal station. - Taxi / Rideshare: Taxis are usually available at the IJmuiden terminal, but this will be a much more expensive option (often €80 - €100+ each way) and traffic can affect travel time.
